Tombstone Tuesday: The Old Goss Cemetery, South of Harveyville, Huntington Twp., Luzerne Co., PA more...

The Old Goss Cemetery south of Harveyville has a great deal of history buried there.  Below is a list done about 1950.  Unfortunately they are in alphabetical order rather than by rows.  Other writings attempted to do that and I have listed them in the post dated June 25, 2013.  I suggest that you do more research on this cemetery by visiting the Luzerne Historical Society and the Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.  I do not claim this is a complete listing so you do need to follow up on this and I am not sure if it is complete.

As you can see from my photos in the other previous posts I did not get many tombstones photographed because of the vegetation and the bad condition of the tombstones. I was visiting the area, so I was not really prepared for tramping around in this cemetery.  The Yahoo group that was formed to clean up this cemetery did have photographs on their online group site but I believe they are not defunct?  I cannot publish those photos without their permission.

If you go and visit this cemetery take along some dog biscuits for the dog who lives next door.  He might be your best buddy after that, HA!

If you have a story to tell about one of the people buried in this cemetery, please leave a comment.  It will be appreciated.
