Tombstone Tuesday: Mossville Cemetery, Huntington Mills Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania

In 2008, I visited the Mossville Cemetery very briefly.  My goal was to pay my respects to Willard Gearhart who was a descendant of Nathaniel Goss, Sr. and Hannah Scott.  I believe it goes like this:

Nathaniel Goss (1749-1812) and Hannah Scott (1755-1824)
Nathaniel Goss, Jr. (1785 to 1854) and Thankful Forbes (1785 to 1869)
Mary Ann Goss (no info) and Reuben Gearhart (1821 to 1878)
Willard Gearhart (1856-1944) and Sarah G. ______ (1861 to 1954)

The other reason I was interested in Willard is that I believe he was the man that Paul H. Goss interviewed about the Goss Family history and wrote about in his Goss Family manuscript which is online at FamilySearch under Paul's name.  https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/123645

Here is Willard and Sarah's stone:

Here are overview photos of the Mossville Cemetery

Here a some Seward graves stones.  I do not know how these people fit into the Seward line.  Sarah Goss a  sister of Nathaniel's married Enos Seward (Seaward) in 1765 and had 10 children.  I am sure there were many more family lines for Seward/Seaward in the area.  Enos moved to the area about 1792 from Granville, Massachusetts.

Find A Grave has this cemetery listed along with a map on how to get to it in Fairmont Twp., which is above Huntington Twp. in Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.  There are 288 names listed which is 60% photographed.
